Sustainable Aquaculture

Danish Salmons focus is 'Green & Clean'

At Danish Salmon, we believe great food should never come at the expense of nature. That’s why our salmon are farmed on land, far from the sensitive ecosystems of the sea.

Using a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS), we reuse and purify our water continously, minimizing consumption of natural ressources and preventing harmful discharge of nutrients into the ocean. This means no harm to seabeds, and no impact on wild fish populations.

All solid waste from production is collected and repurposed for use in agriculture — creating value instead of environmental strain.

By moving salmon farming onto land, we’re minimizing our footprint and protecting ocean life — proving that sustainable aquaculture is not just possible, but already happening.

At Danish Salmon, we’re building a future where salmon thrive — and the oceans stay blue.

Sustainable salmon farming

No sea-lice, no escapes

Conventional salmon aquaculture is facing concerns with regards to the remaining wild salmon population. Additionally animal wellfare with regards to disease and sea lice is a big issue. Farming Atlantic Salmon, on land, within a closed recirculated system (RAS), eliminates these risk.

Spreading diseases into the wild is no longer a concern and affecting the life cycle of wild salmonids is off the table. Concerns about overfishing are also being dealt with in a responsible manner. Finally we can create a stable platform for the future of Atlantic Salmon aquaculture, and aquaculture in general.
